Apartment in the West Village was redesigned as a calm retreat from the city. The plan centers on an open kitchen where white oak millwork surrounds a Taj Mahal quartzite island. Nearby, a wood-burning fireplace clad in Silver travertine and framed by built-in bookcases anchors the living space. Natural stones, textiles, and muted tones create a warm and tactile interior. Furniture remains understated, allowing materials and proportions to define the atmosphere. The primary bedroom is wrapped in wallpaper and upholstered panels that create a quiet, enclosed feeling. In the primary bathroom, Iranian travertine introduces a deeper tone, while a sculptural plaster tub adds softness. The powder room offers contrast with broken-edge Breccia Butterfly marble. The project focuses on balance between warmth and precision, intimacy and openness.
